I needed a mindless project to use many different colors. I found Square Deal and liked this idea! This is going to be the smallest number of different squares (21) which can make a larger square. First you have to knit a square which is the one to adjust the size of the finished square. Than you have do a minimum of math and to think about the arrangement of the colors. I followed another mathematical principle: it says you can use a minimum of four different colors to achieve that no adjacent squares are the same colour. But for I want to use 21 different colors of Wollmeise I devided them in four color groups: red/orange, blue, green, brown/nature/black. From now on: mindless knitting!

Frust! / Frustration!
Meine Jacke strickt sich wie von selbst - das Garn strickt sich wunderbar und das Muster ist toll:
My jacket grows - knitting the yarn is very nice and I like the pattern:
BUT: I have definitely not enough yarn. I needed 4 of my 7 skeins just for the back and half of the first front. That is a big amount of yarn for jacket size S! I don´t know wheather I will try to trade 2 or 3 more skeins or frog the jacket and make a small sweater... Very sad :-(
Nachtrag: Daumen drücken und gute Wünsche haben geholfen. Eine gute Fee organisiert mir morgen noch 2 Stränge direkt im neuen Wollmeise-Laden! Ich brauche also nicht ribbeln... :-)
edit: I´ll get 2 more skeins to finish the cardi! Happy me :-)

Neues Projekt / new WIP
Diese Jacke habe ich gesehen und wußte, ich MUSS sie haben. Hat man ja manchmal sowas. Ich habe nur auf das richtige Garn gewartet. Jetzt habe ich es gefunden: die neue Qualität der Wollmeise : Molly (200m/100g). Ein wunderbar weiches Merinogarn (superwash). Es strickt sich einfach unheimlich gut!
I saw this jacket and I knew I had to have it! You know that? I was waiting for the right yarn coming along and it came: the new Wollmeise yarn Molly. A wonderful soft merino yarn. I enjoy knitting it so much!

Ich stricke auch noch / I am still knitting
Zur Zeit natürlich weiter an der V&Z-Decke und außerdem an einem neuen "Standard-Rippen-RVO" aus Wollmeise Sockenwolle in "Single Malt" und "Honigtöpfchen" als Mindless-Projekt (2/1-Rippen):

And I am working on a shawl called "Ammonit" with Wollmeise Lace (color: Mitternacht). A very interesting shawl design!
I found something yesterday in my garden:
She was running through my garden on her way to Sindelfingen for a trade fair next weekend. I will meet some knitters at the "Wollmeise" stand - hoping they will recognize me with this snail button.

Mal wieder ein KAL / KAL once again
Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr bei einem klassischen KAL mitgemacht. Am Sonntag fiel der Startschuss zum Wollmeise-Sweater-KAL in der Wollmeiseholics-Group (Ravelry) und da bin dabei! Ich habe inzwischen um die 3,5kg (auweia - echt?) Wollmeisen gebunkert - irgendwann muss ich ja mal anfangen sie zu verarbeiten. Und Socken habe ich eher nicht geplant. Pulli ist prima - so schön weich und so tolle Farben! Vorgabe des KAL: es muss ein Teil Oberbekleidung sein und überwiegend aus Wollmeise gestrickt sein. Meine Wahl fiel auf einen zweiten Roslin in "Schwarz" und "Brombeere". Gefällt mir bisher sehr gut - nur ist es doch ziemlich mühsam mit Nd.-St. 2,25mm.
I entered the Sweater-Kal of the Wollmeiseholics-Group (Ravelry). It has to be a garment - predominant made of Wollmeise. Since I have about 3.5kg (that much? really? uhhhh...) of this wonderful yarn in my stash I had to start using some of it. And a sweater seemed perfect to bring out the softness and wonderful colors of this yarn. I decided for a second Roslin in "Schwarz" and "Brombeere". I like it so far. But it is a bit exhausting to knit it with 2.25mm needles.
Main color is Schwarz. I will work the hems, the kangaroo pocket, the colored pattern and the hood in Brombeere. The problem with Wollmeise is you can´t go and purchase as much of a color as you need. And for I have a maximum of 2 skeins of 1 color it has to be a multicolored design.

Sie färbt nicht nur / she is not just dyeing
Nein, sie strickt auch noch! So einiges wurde neu angeschlagen:

Socken aus einem gefärbten Blank. Das viele weiß dazwischen war Absicht - gefällt mir sehr gut!

I make some experiments with lace yarns by dying blanks. I am searching for the right yarn. This one is my favorite so far. The blank looked like:

Und dann noch was völlig anderes: Ich habe mir ein neues Buch gekauft und daraus einen Tea-Cosy angeschlagen. Jaja, ich weiß - ich habe immer gesagt, die Dinger braucht kein Mensch. Denk ich auch immernoch - aber ich wollte unbedingt die Technik ausprobieren. Modularknitting macht Spaß. Und dieses Buch ist wirklich mal was anderes und hat mich begeistert! Weil - endlich (!) mal Filzprojekte, die nicht aus Schiffstauen mit Besenstielen gestrickt werden. Dünne Garne (SoWo-Stärke) und tolle Ideen. Und - endlich, endlich mal Anleitungen, in denen nicht diese moderne Legende verbreitet wird, Filzmodelle müssten unbedingt mit 5 Nadelstärken höher als angegeben gestrickt werden. Das ist nämlich Blödsinn! Egal, welche Nadelstärken man nimmt, nach dem Filzen wird es immer gleich groß (ich habe es ausprobiert). Jetzt stricke ich wie ich es mag mit 3er Nadeln und sehe kein Fischernetz vor mir...
And for something complete different: I started a tea cosy in modular knitting. I have a new book with very nice patterns. Not the super bulky yarns as usual - fingering weight yarns only, like I love it! And with thin needles. It is a misbelief that you have to knit felting projects with needles 5 sizes up the usual needle size. No matter how you knit it - after felting it will be all the same size (I tried it).

Manchmal... / sometimes...
... wird es sogar mir zuviel mit angefangenen Sachen. So wie jetzt im Moment. Ich habe mich selbst irgendwie zugegraben mit Projekten, Ideen, Entwürfen, Wolle... Manchmal verbrauche ich so viel Zeit dafür darüber nachzudenken, was ich im Moment gerne zur Hand nehmen würde, dass für das eigentliche Stricken kaum noch Zeit bleibt. Und beim Stricken kreisen die Gedanken um andere Projekte. Heute kam dieses Buch an (tztz... danke nochmal, liebe Tina 
) - ich habe spontan beschlossen, dass ich diese Jacke brauche (! jawoll) und habe sofort Garn bestellt. Und das, obwohl ich eigentlich erst gestern eine Experimentalfilztasche angefangen habe und außerdem diese Jacke geribbelt wurde (der Schnitt gefiel mir nicht), um aus dem Garn eine lange, gestufte Jacke mit dem Ragna-Muster zu stricken. Von den unzähligen Musterproben, die hier rumfliegen will ich gar nicht reden. Und Wolle - zu viel Wolle! Ich muß unbedingt mal ein paar garnfressende Stashabbau-Projekte stricken.
Verrückt? Bestimmt! Mich macht es langsam wahnsinnig, deshalb überlege ich mal ein Experiment zu wagen. Einfach mal die Reißleine ziehen und gucken, ob ich einfach EIN Projekt beginnen und bis zum Ende durchstricken kann, ohne irgendetwas anderes nebenher zu stricken. Konsequent sozusagen. Einfach mal gucken, wie lange es dann dauert, wenn ich nicht durch tausend Sachen abgelenkt werde. Außerdem mal alles angefangene bei Ravelry auflisten und konsequent nach WIPs und UFOs trennen. Für meinen Überblick.
Übermorgen müßte mein Garn kommen, dann stricke ich die Harvestjacke und nerve Euch hier täglich mit Fortschrittsbildern. So!
... I feel totally lost in WIPs. Too much projects, too much ideas and too much yarn. Sometimes I do not know where to start and where to end. I don´t feel good right now - so I will try something. Start ONE project and knit this ONE project from the start to the finishing without working any other project... To be continued...

Sunrise Stole
Endlich habe ich mich aufgerafft die Anleitung für meine Kauni Stola in halbwegs akzeptable Form zu bringen. Da ich irgendwie für eine "richtige" Anleitung keine Lust hatte, ich aber versprochen hatte zumindest die Charts zu veröffentlichen, ist nun nur ein "Rezept" draus geworden. Für Fragen stehe ich aber gerne zur Verfügung!
Finally I pulled myself together and wrote down some details of my Kauni Stole. It ended up not as a real pattern - but as a "recipe". If you have any problems with it - please feel free to ask!
